Clean wood deck after washing.

Deck & Wood Washing

Wood washing is the practice of gently removing mold, algae, moss, and other organic stains from your deck, fence, furniture, and all things wood.

Approach & Technique

When it comes to wood cleaning and deck washing, our approach is all about using the right balance of pressure and technique. We clean wood surfaces with medium pressure and a controlled, careful touch to get great results without causing damage. Every project starts with an evaluation of your deck, fence, or wood siding to determine the proper cleaning solution, how strong it needs to be, and how long it should dwell on the surface. These steps are key to delivering a safe, even, and effective clean.

Wood surfaces require a completely different approach than standard pressure washing. Because wood is porous and often sealed with a stain or finish, it needs a more precise chemical application. In many cases, wood can also be heavily soiled with algae, mildew, or dirt buildup. We apply a professional wood cleaning solution, allow it to dwell for about 5 to 15 minutes, and then rinse using controlled pressure while keeping a safe distance from the surface.

Using too much pressure on wood can do more harm than good. High-pressure washing can raise the wood fibers, leaving behind a rough, fuzzy texture and permanent damage. That’s why proper deck and fence cleaning is about technique—not force. By treating wood with care and using the right methods, we’re able to restore its appearance while protecting its structure and finish.
