Meet the Founder James Daniel

If you are looking for a dedicated, local professional to care for your property, meet James, the founder of JD Power Washing of Asheville. James has proudly called Asheville home for over 26 years. As a deeply rooted member of the community, he has spent decades raising a family whose children attended Asheville City Schools, engaging in the local arts scene Art Website, and building lasting relationships across Western North Carolina. He currently resides in Asheville's historic Kenilworth neighborhood with his wife of 20 years. James, owner and operator of JD Power Washing of Asheville, loves everything about property cleaning. It is not just a job. Meeting new people, visiting areas of Asheville he has never seen, and helping clients get their property looking great are only a few aspects that make pressure cleaning his passion.

His Background

James is from Raleigh, NC. Before getting into pressure washing, his life was that of a classically trained artist. He started exhibiting his work and winning awards when he was just 8 years old.

When James was 10, his family moved to Atlanta, where he enrolled in an intensive art program run by the well-known gallery owner Fay Gold. From there, he continued studying art in Boston, Florence, Italy, and southern France before eventually making his way back to North Carolina. After spending over 40 years years immersed in the arts, James was ready for a change.

One random weekend in February, while visiting his parents, something completely unexpected happened. His mother had hired a mobile car washer to come out and clean her car. Being the naturally curious guy he is, and someone who has always been interested in the craft and mechanics of how things are done, James went outside to see what he was doing. The equipment immediately caught his attention.

James started asking questions and eventually asked the car washer if he would explain what all the equipment on his trailer was and how it worked. Luckily, the guy was happy to share what he knew, and what was supposed to be a quick car wash turned into nearly two hours of talking about equipment, pumps, hoses, chemicals, and the whole process of washing. It was a good thing his mom wasn't in a hurry to get her car back!

Somewhere during those two hours, James realized he had found something he was genuinely excited about. He loved the equipment, the hands-on nature of the work, and the idea of taking something dirty and making it look new again.

That random February afternoon ended up changing everything. And that's where the pressure washing journey began.

From Humble Beginnings to Certified Industry Expert

James discovered his passion for property maintenance (pressure cleaning) a few years ago, launching his business with just a small consumer unit that he transported in the trunk of his car. What started as simple concrete driveway cleaning quickly evolved into a full-time calling.

Driven by a commitment to true craftsmanship, James refused to cut corners. He invested heavily in professional equipment and training, mastered advanced soft washing techniques, and studied the chemistry of safe surface preservation.
